Argentina have named a strong team of 174 athletes and five guides to participate in the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games which take place between 7-15 August.

Athletes from the country, who finished fifth in the medals table four years ago in Guadalajara, Mexico, will compete in 14 of Toronto’s 15 sports. The only sport Argentina will not contest is sitting volleyball.

Star names selected to represent Argentina include defending champions from Guadalajara 2011 such as Gustavo Fernandez (wheelchair tennis), Gabriel Coploa (table tennis), Jose Effron (judo) and Mariano Dominguez (athletics).

The delegation is the biggest Argentina has ever sent to any major para-sport event and has been supported by the National Board of Performance Sports, the Ministry of Sport and Allianz.
