“The outfits are colourful, fashionable, elegant and functional.”

The kit that Austria’s stars will wear at the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games was unveiled on Tuesday (24 May) with the presence of Paralympic swimmer Sabine Weber-Treiber, two-time London 2012 track gold medallist Gunther Matzinger and multiple world champion canoeist Markus Swoboda, together with several Austrian Olympic athletes.

The formal clothing was designed by Adelsberger, Erima was responsible for the training and sporting outfits, whilst Salomon designed the shoes.

“The outfits are colourful, fashionable, elegant and functional,” said Petra Huber, Secretary General of NPC Austria.

“They are light and give the athletes freedom of movement. If the athletes feel comfortable, we know they can have good performances and we are hoping to win many medals.

“We are happy with the clothing our partners have designed. They have really good quality.”

The kit’s presentation was broadcast by ORF Sport.
