World Para Dance Sport is inviting National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) to send one nomination for the athlete representative elections, which will take place during the 2017 Malle World Para Dance Sport Championships from 21-22 October in Belgium.

NPCs have until 20 September to submit their nominations.

The athlete representative will serve a two-year term on the Sport Technical Committee (STC), acting as liaison between the athletes and sport’s decision makers; and also be the direct link to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletes’ Council.

Candidates should have strong qualities of leadership, accomplishment, knowledge and respect both on and off the field of play. World Para Dance Sport particularly welcomes candidates with experience in and commitment to the advocacy of athlete-related issues.

Those interested in nominating an athlete should contact their respective NPCs.

Slovakia’s Helena Kasicka currently serves as the sport’s athlete representative.

More information can be found on World Para Dance Sport’s website.
