Canada and USA are the Teams to Beat in U25 Women’s Wheelchair Basketball

Both Team Canada and Team USA swept through their three preliminary round matches at the inaugural Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Ontario, Canada, last weekend.

USA seized the top spot in Pool A with wins against Mexico, Australia and Great Britain, while in Pool B, Canada recorded victories against Russia, Japan and Germany.

In Tuesday’s quarterfinal round, USA will face Russia and Canada will face Mexico, with the winners advancing to Wednesday’s semifinals.

In Pool A, Australia (2-1) finished second, followed by Great Britain (1-2) and Mexico (0-3). In Pool B, Germany (2-1) finished second, followed by Japan (1-2) and South Africa (1-2).

Germany will challenge Great Britain in Tuesday’s quarterfinals, and Australia will take on Japan.
