CPC Agrees New Partnership

Four-year partnership with Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Canada 27 Jun 2011 By IPC

The Canadian Paralympic Committee has agreed a new four-year partnership with Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Canada, which will see national sport organizations benefiting immediately from risk-management tools created for hosting sport competitions.

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Canada is a leading risk management, insurance and employee benefits specialty brokerage firm based in Calgary, Alberta.

"JLT is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable sports insurance brokers in the world," said Paul Murphy, JLT Canada, President & CEO. "The company delivers specialized risk management and insurance solutions to professional and amateur sports teams, associations and groups in over 30 countries. We are very proud and excited to announce our association with the Canadian Paralympic Committee."

The sponsorship, announced at the Canadian Paralympic Committee's Guadalajara 2011 Parapan American Games overview session in Ottawa, means that its 46 member sport organizations can now access the firm's expertise when planning sporting events.

During the launch last week, JLT hosted an interactive risk management workshop for national sport organizations. JLT discussed simple risk management tools that sport organizations can use for planning local, provincial or national sport competitions and what should be covered when planning such an event.

"This is an opportunity to not only make a difference within an industry, but also to be a part of helping individuals achieve their goals and dreams," said Alexis Harke, Managing Director & National Practice Leader, JLT Sports & Entertainment Canada. "While JLT will focus on keeping athletes safe, mitigating premiums and providing support to national sport organizations, the Canadian Paralympic Committee will be able to focus on preparing athletes to become the world's leading Paralympic nation."
