The inaugural Women’s U25 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships will begin Friday (15 July) in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada.

Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and the USA will all participate in the week-long tournament at Brock University, with the first game pitting host nation Canada against South Africa.

The preliminary round of competition will take place during the event’s first three days, with the bronze and gold medal games set for 21 July.

The USA women’s team took the gold at both the last two Paralympic Games, with Australia, Canada and Germany also having strong performances in both years.
