'Get Set London Roadshow' Launched

The London 2012 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (London 2012) recently launched the ‘Get Set London Roadshow’ 2008, which will now be travelling throughout London in the coming weeks and months. 11 Jan 2008 By IPC

Run jointly by the London Development Agency and London 2012, it brings to life some of London’s ambitions for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is a chance for Londoners to find out how the 2012 Games will benefit jobs and skills, culture, sports, business and regeneration in the capital. The roadshow will visit all 33 London boroughs between now and 6 April.

The Roadshow will give people the chance to try out sports and find out about facilities in their area. Furthermore visitors will be able to audition to be part of the handover celebration held in London at the Closing Ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Attended by high-ranking officials including Seb Coe, Ken Livingstone, Jonathan Edwards and Tessa Jowell, the event was also joined by some young 2012 hopefuls and Paralympic Swimmer Giles Long to show their support for London 2012.
