“We’ve got a big couple of months coming up and the Standard Life Continental Clash gives us the chance to really maximise our preparation. Great Britain has a strong rivalry with Canada, Germany, and Spain so it should be a great tournament!”

The Standard Life Continental Clash 2013 will see Great Britain men's wheelchair basketball team take on the world forces of Spain, Germany and London 2012 gold medallists Canada at the University of Worcester Arena from the 10-13 June.

With the European Championships less than three months away, the Standard Life Great Britain men's team will be looking to build upon their clean-sweep of the ninth Easter Tournament in March where they battled their way to wins over Belgium, the Netherlands, and Canada. But with each team having earned their place in at least the quarter final rounds of last summer’s Paralympic Games, every game will see the nations pushed to their limits!

Great Britain men’s Head Coach Haj Bhania said: “We have a fantastic squad of players who are continuing to drive each other forwards as players and as a team. The Standard Life Continental Clash offers us an invaluable opportunity to compete against some of the world’s leading teams in the approach to the European Championships.”

Great Britain’s Simon Munn said: “We’ve got a big couple of months coming up and the Standard Life Continental Clash gives us the chance to really maximise our preparation. Great Britain has a strong rivalry with Canada, Germany, and Spain so it should be a great tournament!”

The 2013 Wheelchair Basketball European Championships will take place in Frankfurt, Germany between 28 June and 7 July.
