Iceland Gets Taste of Paralympic Atmosphere

Pre London 2012 Paralympic Games training camp in Stoke Mandeville 25 Jul 2011 By IPC

Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, Great Britain, recently hosted a pre London 2012 Paralympic Games training camp to prepare Iceland’s athletes for next year’s event.

The aim of the training camp was to create team spirit amongst the athletes and establish a sense of mutual ambition and unity.

Iceland has taken part in the Paralympic Games since 1980. The country had six representatives at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games and two at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

Iceland will be one of approximately 150 delegations at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

So far more than one million people have registered for tickets for next year’s event. To do the same, please visit www.tickets.london2012.com.
