The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has welcomed the International Golf Federation (IGF) as its newest recognised International Federation (IF).

With 143 member federations from 138 countries, the IGF acts as the international governing body of golf, with responsibility of organising events at international competitions.

Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the organisation is also comprised of 22 professional members.

As a recognised IF, IGF has agreed to the IPC Medical Code, IPC Classification Code and World Anti-Doping Code, and its classification system is constantly being updated and improved to make competition as fair as possible.

The IPC has agreed to extend its continuous support to helping further develop golf as para-sports in the coming years.
