IPC Alpine Skiing European Cup Final Taking Place in Spain

The European Cup Final in IPC Alpine Skiing is taking place this week in La Molina, Spain with nearly 60 athletes from 13 countries participating.

Taking place from 14 to 17 March, the event is the climax of the European season and will see skiers compete in Super-G, Slalom and Giant Slalom races.

Among the skiers taking part include Spain’s Yon Santacana who was voted the IPC’s Athlete of the Month for January after winning three gold and two silver medals at the IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Sestriere, Italy.

Joining the visually impaired Spaniard on the slopes is another big medal winner from Sestriere.

France’s Vincent Gauthier-Manuel, who was born with a left arm, won four gold and two silver medals in Sestriere and will be looking for similar success in Spain.

Monday’s races in La Molina were cancelled due to poor weather.
