IPC statement on Mexico City

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and whole Paralympic Movement have sent its heartfelt condolences and thoughts to the people of Mexico following Tuesday’s (19 September) devastating earthquake.

Following the tragedy, the IPC is in close liaison with the Local Organising Committee and the City of Mexico regarding the upcoming World Championships in Para swimming and Para powerlifting which are due to begin in Mexico City on 30 September.

Clearly this is terrible event for the people of Mexico and we will be assessing the situation carefully on Wednesday before providing an update later today.
