Kampschreur receives Allianz Athlete of the Month for January

Jeroen Kampschreur won three golds at the Tarvisio 2017 World Para Alpine Skiing Championships

Dutch teenage sit skier Jeroen Kampschreur has been voted as the Allianz Athlete of the Month for January after winning three gold medals at the 2017 World Para Alpine Skiing Championships in Tarvisio, Italy.

The 17-year-old claimed titles in the super combined, slalom and giant slalom on his World Championships debut.

Kampschreur has previously taken part in development activities held by the International Paralympic Committee and various partners, such as the European Para Snow Sport Youth Circuit in 2013 and 2014.

Kampschreur received 34 per cent of the public vote. Ukrainian Nordic skier Oleksandra Kononova was second with 25 per cent. Argentina’s wheelchair tennis player Gustavo Fernandez was third (19 per cent), followed by British archer Jessica Stretton (13 per cent) and German alpine skier Andrea Rothfuss (9 per cent).
