Marie Bochet reacts to clean sweep of alpine World Cups

France's Marie Bochet won her third world title at Panorama 2015, taking her career total to eight.

France’s multiple world and Paralympic champion Marie Bochet has spoken of her delight at winning all four overall crystal globes in speed and technical disciplines at the IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals in Aspen, USA.
With her unbeaten run of 13 races, Bochet also secured the overall World Cup for the women’s standing in Aspen, where competition concludes on Friday (4 March) with the final super-G race.
The 21-year-old collected globes in slalom, giant slalom, downhill and super-G in 2015-16.
“I am very happy, of course! I love the North American snow,” Bochet said. “I always have a lot of fun, including in the technical and this was again the case this year in Aspen.
“Winning all these globes, it's a little crazy and not very practical to return by plane! But it's so much fun! These are the rewards that have more value to me.”
The 11-time world champion had said that this season, without a World Championships or Paralympic Games, would be about trying new things and having fun.
However Bochet confessed she was not entirely happy with her skiing, despite winning her all races.
“Actually, I'm not quite satisfied! I'm only half satisfied with my skiing to finish the races,” Bochet said. “I have many things to work on if I want to continue to progress. It's very positive for next season.”
Speaking of the next Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, in 2018, which are just over two years’ away, Bochet said: “From now on, PyeongChang is the only thing in our heads. Everything will be not to falter before March 2018.
“We have an extensive programme! The next two seasons will really be about facing this goal. Paralympic Games require long-term effort. The goal may at first seem distant but time will pass at full speed."
Whilst in Aspen, the 21-year-old Frenchwoman also learned that she has been nominated for the Laureas World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability. Bochet was the winner in 2014.
