29 Aug 2011 By IPC

The National Paralympic Committee of Pakistan is celebrating the “One Year to Go” mark to London 2012 today (29 August) at the residence of Adam Thompson, the British High Commissioner in Pakistan.

Eight selected athletes, along with their coaches and members of NPC Pakistan, are attending, and they will meet with the media, listen to a speech by NPC Pakistan President Tariq Mustafa and watch screenings of the “See Britain” film on Tanni Grey-Thompson and a documentary on NPC Pakistan.

It is the first time NPC Pakistan has held a “One Year to Go” event.

At London 2012, Pakistan is hoping to build off its performance from the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, where Haider Ali won its lone medal, a silver in the men’s Long Jump F37/38.

NPC Pakistan will be one of 150 nations participating in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, which begin exactly one year from today. To sign up for your tickets, please visit www.tickets.london2012.com.
