Bank South Pacific (BSP), Papua New Guinea’s leading bank, has renewed its support of the country’s National Paralympic Committee (PNGPC) with cash funding of K100,000 (around EUR30,000) plus merchandise towards athlete preparations and participation in various international para-sport events in 2014.

BSP Group Chief Executive Officer, Robin Fleming presented the bank’s support to PNG Paralympic Committee President, Peter Curtain in Port Moresby.

“This support is part of our longstanding commitment in supporting sports in PNG, and we are delighted to continue our support to further our elite para athletes prepare and represent our country in various international events that are scheduled this year,” said Fleming.

Part of the funds has been spent on supporting a training camp ahead of the team’s participation in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Elated PNGPC President, Peter Curtain thanked BSP for its continued support and applauded the BSP management in providing support towards developing sports for people with an impairment.
