Official Farewell for the Argentinean Athletes Participating in Mexico

Official Farewell Ceremony in Golden Room of the Golden Convention Centre in Buenos Aires 07 Oct 2011 By IPC

On Monday (3 October), the Argentinean athletes taking part in November’s 2011 Guadalajara Parapan Games in Mexico were received in the Golden Room of the Golden Convention Centre in Buenos Aires to be wished luck for their participation at the Games.

Amongst the many representatives from various sport authorities who attended the event were Dr. Alicia M. Kirchner, Ministry of Social Development; Daniel Scioli, Governor of the Buenos Aires Province; Claudio Morresi, Secretary of Sports and Jose Maria Valladares, President of the Argentinean Paralympic Committee.

After the reception, a delegation headed to The Pink House (President’s office) where Her Excellency Dr. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the country’s President, gave an official flag to Paralympic swimmer Nadia Báez and wished her well for her participation in Guadalajara.

Báez will be one of 1,444 athletes from 25 countries competing in the Parapan American Games, an event that will feature 13 sports Athletics, Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Cycling, Football 5, Goalball, Judo, Weightlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Wheelchair Tennis, Archery and Seated Volleyball.
