Paralympic Hopefuls Head To Sonar Championships in Scotland

Three Para-Sailing Teams will go head-to-head at the 2011 Sonar European Open Championships (19-21 August 2011) and World Championships (24-27 August 2011) in Scotland.

The racing will be hosted by the Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club in Scotland.

Great Britain’s John Robertson goes into the Championships as the favourite, skippering the Chimera with a crew of Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas. The team that took silver in the 2011 IFDS World Championships in Weymouth earlier this year and have been selected to represent Great Britain at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Great Britain’s Andy Cassell will also skipper a team on the Jenny and the USA’s Kerry Gruson with a crew of John Muir, Gayle Gray and Lynn Fitzpatrick will sail with Blew BaYou2 .
