The Portuguese Paralympic Committee held its first congress on ‘Equality, Inclusion and Excellence in Sport’, between 24-25 October at the Auditorium of the School of Health Technology, in Lisbon, Portugal.

The event brought together personalities from the world of sport, including Sir Philip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee.

Aimed to promote discussion around the themes of the Paralympic Movement, the first congress challenged the scientific community to develop research and studies about disability sport and people with impairments.

In addition to the plenary sessions with a number of Paralympic experts, there were also themed sessions and an education component through the presentation of research projects, posters and brief communications.
