Norway have become the fourth and final side to qualify for the wheelchair curling semi-finals

In the first semi-final world champions Canada beat hosts Korea 7-0 to qualify to its first Paralympic final since the Torino Games in 2006.

USA thumped Italy 10-1 in the second semi-final and will defend the title from Sochi. First time semi-finalists Italy managed to be the first team to score a goal in the USA in the competition.

Wheelchair curling

In this morning’s wheelchair curling matches, both Canada and hosts South Korea qualified for the semi-finals, joining China who progressed on Wednesday.

In the afternoon, Norway took the last spot in the semis after a 7-6 win over Slovakia in a nail-biting finish in which the stones had to be measured to determine the final score.

China will face Canada and Norway will play against host South Korea in the semi-finals.

Morning results: Canada 6-2 Germany, Switzerland 4-6 NPA, USA 4-5 Norway, Great Britain 4-5 Korea.

Afternoon results: Norway 7-6 Slovakia, Canada 8-4 Finland, NPA 3-7 Sweden, China 6-7 Korea

Evening results: Sweden 5-3 Switzerland, Finland 4-8 Germany, China 6-3 Great Britain, USA 6-7 Slovakia.
