Sochi 2014 Ambassador Promotes Movement

Ambassador for the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games Irek Zaripov spoke with a group of children with a disability about training and success at the upcoming Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The multiple Paralympic medal-winning athlete participated in the talk which was part of the Paralympic Awareness Programme put together by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. More than 20 students from the Sochi rehabilitation centres for children with a disability were in attendance.

Also adding his experience to the event was Nikolay Zamkovoy, the Editor-in-Chief of Solnyshko, which is a newspaper that publishes articles for children with a disability. Mr. Zamkovoy spoke about his experience of the Paralympic Games and about the accessible environment that has been established in Canada.

The children also performed a dance on the occasion for Irek Zaripov and Nikolay Zamkovoy, followed by a video from the young football players and their training sessions.

The Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games will be held from 7-16 March 2014.
