The Spanish Paralympic Committee is developing its online social media presence with the launch of three new official communication channels on Facebook, Twitter and Tuenti, in addition to the already existing multimedia platform YouTube.

These three new means of interactive communication have been created with the hope of spreading Paralympic news to an ever increasing number of sports fans ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The official Facebook and Tuenti pages are called “Comité Paralímpico Español”. On Twitter, the Spanish Paralympic Committee has the name @Paralimpicos, and its public profile will be displayed on http://twitter.com/Paralimpicos. The YouTube channel is accessible through the following link: www.youtube.com/TVparalimpicos.

Facebook, Twitter and Tuenti will be updated with content generated by Paralympic sports on a national and international level.

Among others, results of competitions attended by the Spanish Paralympic team, videos of the Paralympic programmes broadcasted weekly on TVE, bi-monthly newsletters compiling news about Paralympic sports in Spain, pictures of the sports and athletes, and institutional information from the Spanish Paralympic Committee will all be uploaded to the social media platforms.

Additionally, news from other organizations will be relayed such as content from the International Paralympic Committee, Paralympic Games Organizing Committees and International Federations.
