USA’s Mike Schultz feels ready to compete at the 2017 World Para Snowboard Championships in Big White, Canada, from 1-8 February.

The last Para snowboard event he took part in was a World Cup held in the same Canadian city, in February 2016, when he finished third in both banked slalom and snowboard-cross.

With only one day until the Worlds kick off, check out three things Schultz enjoys the most when he is not on the slopes.

Motocross

Mike Schultz practices many sports other than snowboarding, with motocross being amongst his favourite ones.

“It is always a little difficult juggling the time spent on each sport. In the summertime, motocross is my main sport and I love practising it with my buddies.”

Camping and trail riding

“Going camping and trail riding with my family and horses is one of the things I enjoy the most. That is always great to relax and enjoy a nice quiet ride. In the winter season, I try and get out and do some trail riding on my snowmobile.”

Racing on his snowmobile

“I compete at a few national level events on my snowmobile, the biggest one being the ESPN Winter X Games. I won my sixth gold medal this year, only one week before the World Championships in Big White, Canada.”
