The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB), the public transport company of Bonn, have partnered to help promote the fact that the German city is the home of the Paralympic Movement’s global governing body.

From Tuesday 21 June, a branded IPC tram promoting the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality will be part of Bonn’s public transport system for the next three years. The tram will also feature video content about Para sport.

IPC CEO Xavier Gonzalez said: “I would like to thank the SWB, Anja Wenmakers and her team for making this project a reality.

“The city of Bonn is the home of the IPC and the Paralympic Movement. From here we organise the Paralympic Games, one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

“This tram will help us to reach out to the citizens of Bonn and spread our message of making for a more inclusive society for people with an impairment through Para sport.”

Anja Wenmakers, Marketing and Sales Director of SWB Bus und Bahn, said: “We move more than 92 million people per year and stand for a sustainable mobility in Bonn and the region.

“We are delighted about cooperation partners like the International Paralympic Committee, who support sustainable sport for people with an impairment and promote environmentally friendly mobility.”
