Tribute to the Late Gillian Hall

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) would like to offer its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Gillian Hall who passed away this past week. Gillian had been Head of Classification for the IPC Alpine Skiing Sport Technical Committee. 04 Aug 2009 By IPC

An outstanding contributor to the Paralympic Movement, Gillian had a long history with Paralympic Sport. Originated from Christchurch, New Zealand, her diverse background included physiotherapy advisor to the New Zealand Disabled Ski Team, and Board Member of both Disabled Snowsports New Zealand and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of New Zealand.

Gillian was a leader in sport for persons with a disability in New Zealand, and was a strong organizer of events and competitions. She worked with teams, held governance roles and also worked on the sport technical side. Gillian was instrumental in the success of previous Paralympic Winter Games and Championships due to her expertise and commitment to Paralympic Sport.

Gillian was a respected member of the Paralympic Family and her long history was a testament to her drive, generosity and passion for life.

She is survived by her spouse, three children and two grandchildren.
