Ukraine Wins Football 7-a-Side European Championships

After a tough final match, Ukraine has taken the top position at the 2010 Cerebral Palsy International Sports & Recreation Association (CPISRA) Football 7-a-Side European Championships.

Winning 9-8 on penalties against Russia, Ukraine was part of Group B which also included Australia, England, Finland and Ireland. Group A included Denmark, the Netherlands, Russia, Scotland and Spain.

Coming in third place was Ireland, who won against the Netherlands, 2-0. Scotland took fifth place, winning against England, 1-0.

Taking place from 17-28 August, the 2010 CPISRA Football 7-a-Side European Championships were successfully held in Glasgow, Scotland, at the indoor facility at Toryglen Regional Football Centre.

Football 7-a-Side is governed by the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA) and follows the rules of the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA), with some modifications.
