Wheelchair rugby begins at the Basketball Arena, and the first match may just be the best of the entire competition.

Morning: To open the day, Iran will play Russia their final football 7-a-side group game at Riverbank Arena, a matchup that could be a dress rehearsal for the gold-medal game.

The road cycling competition begins at Brands Hatch in Kent, where the Czech Republic’s Jiri Jezek will be one to watch in the men’s individual time trial C4 in the morning. That will be followed by the women’s individual time trial C5, for which Great Britain’s Sarah Storey will attract the crowds.

Afternoon: Wheelchair rugby begins at the Basketball Arena, and the first match may just be the best of the entire competition. Host nation Great Britain takes on defending Paralympic and world champions USA in a game that will feature very strong starting lineups on both ends of the court.

The men’s wheelchair basketball quarter-finals kick off with a matchup between Germany and USA, followed by a game between Turkey and Great Britain at North Greenwich Arena.

Evening: At Olympic Stadium, it will be another night of athletes you will not want to miss, as Oscar Pistorius returns to the track, along with USA’s Jerome Singleton and Blake Leeper in the 100m T44 heats. Great Britain’s Jonnie Peacock, the world-record holder in the event, will also make his debut.

Following that, Australia’s Kelly Cartwright will go for her second gold of the Games in the 100m T42 sprint, and later the night USA, Brazil and South Africa will battle it out in the much-anticipated 4x100m T42-46 relay, an event that is sure to wind the crowds up.

Over at the ExCeL, Ukraine will face USA in the first women’s sitting volleyball semi-final, followed by the Netherlands against China in the other matchup.

At the pool, Australia’s Matt Cowdrey will look to add another medal to his large collection here in London when he is expected to race in the 50m freestyle S9 finals, while Sam and Ollie Hynd could go head-to-head in the 200m individual medley SM8 finals if they both qualify.
