World Masters Games deadline extended

Athletes with an impairment will be included in archery, athletics and swimming in varying age categories.

Those interested in taking part in the 2013 World Masters Games in Torino, Italy will now have until 30 June to register for the event.

The World Masters Games take place every two years, and this year’s Games will include events for athletes with an impairment for the first time.

The Games attract tens of thousands of athletes and are open to anyone, as participants compete for themselves and there are no country delegations.

Athletes with an impairment will be included in archery, athletics and swimming in varying age categories.

Beyond the age requirements and membership in that sport's governing body, there are no competition qualification requirements.
