World Para Dance Sport is saddened to learn of the passing of Israel's athlete Shlomo Dahan.

One of the most experienced dancers in the country, he was instrumental in developing Para dance sport in Israel. Dahan competed internationally since 2015 and made his World Championships debut at Bonn 2019.

In Germany, the Israeli athlete took part in three events having a fifth place in the duo freestyle 2 as his best finish, competing alongside Maytal Wax.

Dahan also competed in Para sailing representing his country at the 2010 World Championships in Medemblik, Netherlands.

"He was a true fighter and an optimist. He empathised and cared for people, and he was the most gifted and talented dancer. We bid farewell to Shlomo with great sorrow," said Israeli Para dance coach Yelena Feitliher.

World Para Dance Sport share its condolences to the friends and family of Shlomo Dahan, and to the whole Para dance sport community in Israel.
