TRIATHLON
As a child he competed in triathlons before he was diagnosed with Stargardt disease at age 10. He has gone on to compete internationally in Para triathlon and represented the United States of America at the world championships in 2021. "I started participating in triathlons when I was eight, prior to that I swam and ran with local clubs. I also played soccer, but my vision began decreasing rapidly when I was nine, making it unsafe for me to continue in the sport [soccer]. After participating in kids' triathlons, as an able-bodied athlete, I knew I would like to learn how to participate with a guide. Dare2tri [in Chicago, IL, United States of America] helped me learn how to be a Para triathlete." (Team MPI, 05 Sep 2017; SportsDeskOnline, 14 Feb 2022; Instagram profile, 06 Nov 2021)
