When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up Para athletics in 2015 after taking an extended break from sport. Prior to that he had competed in Para biathlon and Para cross-country skiing, which he took up in 1994.
Why this sport?
"I was inspired by Robert Jachimowicz, a silver medallist at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. I want to show that if someone wants something, then there is no limitation. I also want to encourage people to do sport, because it's healthy."

He represented Poland in Para cross-country skiing and Para biathlon at the Paralympic Winter Games in 2002 and 1998 and believes that experience has helped his career in Para athletics. "I made my mark competing in winter sports at a professional level so knew exactly what elite sport looks like and how you have to behave. My task in discus was to repeat in competition what I was doing in training. I knew that I was good enough technically and that is crucial in discus.
