"My mother forced me to take part. When I started, I complained of the strong sun, I didn't think I was cut out to compete. Luckily, I had the incentive from the right people."

MEDAL UPGRADE
She originally finished third in the F54 javelin event at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru, but in December 2020 she was upgraded to the silver medal position following the disqualification of US competitor Sebastiana Lopez for an anti-doping violation. (paralympic.org, 11 Dec 2020)
