When and where did you begin this sport?
She began swimming at age two. She started training at age seven in Porto, Portugal, after a coach invited her to compete in able-bodied swimming. She took part in her first Para swimming competition at age 12.
Why this sport?
Her doctor recommended she try the sport. "Water is my own space, where I feel free and can forget all the problems from the world outside. I really have fun in the water."

Training Regime
She trains for around two hours a day, six days a week. She combines her training in the pool with pilates and gym sessions.
