He took up wheelchair racing in 2016.
Why this sport?
In 2013 he attended a Para sports talent day run by the Dutch Olympic Committee [NOC*NSF]. He tried rowing, basketball and athletics following the event. He attended another talent discovery day in 2016 where Dutch Para athlete Kenny van Weeghel encouraged him to take up wheelchair racing.
