Bahrain at the Rio 2016 Paralympics

·Bahrain has claimed nine medals at the Paralympic Summer Games: G1-S3-B5.

·Seoul 1988 were Bahrain's most successful Paralympic Games to date, winning its only gold medal (S1-B1).

·The NPC made its debut at the Stoke Mandeville/New York 1984 Paralympic Games.

·Bahrain is in 81st place on the Summer Games' all-time medal table.

·The NPC has been most successful in athletics, claiming all its medals in the sport.

·Khaled Al Sager won Bahrain's only gold medal. He won the men's slalom 1A at Seoul 1988.

·Al Sager also claimed a silver medal in the men's discus throw THW2-3 at the Barcelona 1992 Paralympic Games.

·Adel Sultan is the only other multi medallist for Bahrain at the Paralympic Games. He bagged bronze in 1984 in the men's 100m 5 and silver in 1988 in the men's 100m 5-6.

·All of Bahrain's medals at the Paralympic Games have been won by male athletes.

·Bahrain failed to win a medal at the previous two Paralympic Games.
