He began swimming at age five. He began competing in Para swimming in 2018.
Why this sport?
His parents and grandparents encouraged him to take up swimming. He also played able-bodied football for Club Porvenir Paraguayo in Luque, Paraguay, as well as able-bodied basketball. "I always liked sports. I had a good time with friends. There were never any difficulties and the groups accepted me as one of them. It was never an impediment to playing as an equal with others."
