Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
She has been involved in a range of sports since she was a young girl, including cycling, horse riding, basketball, softball, swimming, golf and athletics. She often plays with her father and three siblings.
Why this sport?
Her mother, Kelly Rhodes, says the family has always encouraged her to be involved in sports. "There has never been a time where we have said, 'No you can't do that' when she has asked to participate in a sport or activity," Kelly said. "We always tell her to go out and try it, and she loves sports so she just jumps right in."

Sporting philosophy / motto
"I see myself as just another athlete, but I also understand that if I can be a role model and an inspiration to little girls out there, that is something I cherish, too. If there are little girls out there who don't know the sport yet and the joy they can get from it, hopefully, they can see what we are doing and come out and get inspired to participate. Getting a chance to compete in this sport has changed my life, and it can change their life, too." (ohiosportsticket.com, 04 Jun 2016)
