Impairment
In 2011 he stepped on a pressure plate improvised explosive device [IED] while serving with the US Army near Kandahar, Afghanistan. He shattered his heel bone and suffered a dislocated ankle. MILITARY SERVICE
Before his injury, he served as an infantryman in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the US Army. After recovering from his injuries, he returned to the armed forces in 2012. (military.com, 09 Nov 2012)
