Impairment
She ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee while skiing in January 2007. Later that year she re-injured her knee while on tour in Afghanistan as a medical technician in the British Army. A series of failed operations to repair the damage resulted in herniated discs in her spinal cord. In 2014 she decided to have her right leg amputated through the knee. (afpst.co.uk, 2017)
