When and where did you begin this sport?
She began swimming competitively in 2008 in the 'Accelerate to Excellence' programme. In 2013 she joined the North Shore Swimming Club.

Her mother Nicki Clement represented New Zealand in swimming at the Pan Pacific Games. Her sister Georgia has played hockey for the North Georgia club in New Zealand (nzherald.co.nz, 13 Jul 2018; stuff.co.nz, 08 Aug 2015)
Ambitions

Impairment
At age four months she was diagnosed with Moebius syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. Her impairment causes facial paralysis, club feet, and the inability to move her eyes horizontally or move her ankles. She was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age three. (stuff.co.nz, 27 Sep 2015)
