"I didn't choose Para powerlifting, the sport chose me. Since I was young, my coaches were telling me that I should pursue Para powerlifting. It suits my physical abilities and I have a passion for it."

FROM ATHLETICS TO POWERLIFTING
She represented Jordan in athletics [discus throw] at the Paralympic Games in 2004 and 2008. She then made the switch to Para powerlifting and competed at the 2010 World Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "There have been a lot of changes to the rules in athletics, so I thought that powerlifting could be a sport that would fit me. It is also easier to win medals in powerlifting than athletics."
