2015 IPC Athletics Marathon World Championships

The 2015 IPC Athletics Marathon World Championships were held in association with the Virgin Money London Marathon on 26 April 2015 in London.

Around 100 para-athletes competed in the British capital in eight IPC Athletics Marathon World Championship races.

There was triple delight for the USA in the wheelchair races as Joshua George, Tatyana McFadden and Raymond Martin all clinched IPC Athletics World Marathon gold on the streets of the British capital.

Three marathon world records were broken at the event as Morocco’s El Amin Chentouf (T12), Spain’s Abderrahman Ait Khamouch (T46) and Russia’s Yelena Paulova (T12) clinched gold in their respective races.

Brazil’s Aniceto Antonio Dos Santos clinched gold in the men’s T13 event, finishing comfortably in 2:35:42 with Morocco’s Youssef Benibrahim taking silver in 2:36:07. New Zealand’s former Paralympic 800m T13 champion Tim Prendergast won bronze in 2:47:23.

The IPC Athletics World Championships will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 22-31 October.
