Athletics - Men's 800m - T12 Final - London 2012 Paralympic Games

GOLD ZHIOU Abderrahim TUN - Tunisia
SILVER SHAROV Egor RUS - Russian Federation
BRONZE DEVINE David GBR - Great Britain

Tunisia's Abderrahim ZHIOU struck gold and set a world record in the men's 1500m T12 at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday - just 24 hours after taking silver in the 5000m.

"The revolution in Tunisia it really and affected my preparation. I did recover and hopefully the future will be brighter." said Gold medal winner ZHIOU

Egor SHAROV, silver medallist, said "I thought I had the race all under control. It was a bad race because I think I should have won. I had a plan. I was in the lead at the last 100m. I don't know why I didn't keep the lead (in the final straight). I destroyed my plan."

The finish was so close that Bronze medallist David DEVINE (GBR) said "I had to go up to an official to find out where I'd come. When he told me, I was made up."
