LONDON, 7 September
Raymond MARTIN (USA) took the lead just 100m into the T52 men's 800m
wheelchair race and was never headed after building up a two-wheelchair-length lead on the first lap. The 18-year-old London 2012 100m and 400m champion added the gold medal over two laps of the track, crossing the line in 2:00.34. World record holder Tomoya ITO (JPN) came through strongly on the second lap to get within two metres of MARTIN and take the silver medal 2:00.62.

""There are just no words to describe it. I just wanted to get the
experience at these Games and to get three gold medals is great. I
didn't think I could be one of the fastest athletes on the track. The
Paralympics has been so unreal, I never thought I'd be on the podium.
The crowd are so loud."" - Raymond MARTIN said
