Be part of it: 2015 IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships

For only the third time in history the International Paralympic Committees Nordic Skiing World Championships are coming to the USA! Near the shores of Lake Superior and located in the nearly 1 million acre Chequamegon National Forest, the Northern Wisconsin community of Cable, long noted for having the best trails in the U.S, will host athletes from over 20 countries for eight days of intense competition in cross country skiing, sprints, team relays and Biathlon. With an average seasonal snowfall of 75" and numerous public trails weaving through the forests, the cross country trail system in the Cable Area is world renowned. This is the birthplace of the American Birkenbeiner, the largest cross country ski race in North America. Every February nearly 12,000 ski enthusiast from around the world descend here to ski the 52 Kilometer course that starts in Cable and ends in downtown Hayward. The 2015 IPC Nordic Skiiing World Championships will use part of this legendary course and provide both competitors and spectators with an experience unlike any other on the planet. This will be the first gathering of these elite athletes since the Paralympic Games in Sochi Russia. Rivalries will be renewed, scores will be settled and Champions will be crowned! Powerhouses like Russia, Norway and Japan will look to continue their dominance in the Nordic events but teams from around the world like Canada, Germany, Ukraine and our own Team USA will battle to claim their share of spots on the Champions podium as well. U.S stars Tatyana McFadden and Oksana Masters will look to build on their medal performances in Sochi while Andy Soule, Dan Cnossen, Jeremy Wagner and the rest of Team USA will look to improve on their record setting performance in Sochi and avenge some near misses! The World is coming to the USA. The venue is outstanding and the course surprising challenging. Eight days of heart pounding competition coupled with the pageantry of Opening ceremonies and medal presentations makes this the opportunity of the lifetime.
