R3 (mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1) | IPC Shooting World Cup Osijek, Croatia

France’s Christophe Tanche took the first World Cup victory of his career at the IPC Shooting World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, on Sunday (12 July), winning gold in R3 (mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1).

Tanche (212.2), who made his international debut in 2009, has never been selected to compete at a Paralympic Games. However things may be changing for the 36-year-old as the World Cup acts as qualifier for Rio 2016, where countries can secure quota places through the performances of their athletes.

The Frenchman took an early lead over Great Britain’s Paralympic and world rifle gold medallist Matt Skelhon (209.1), managing to stay consistent right until the end.

Australia won their latest medal with bronze for Anton Zapelli (1887.2).
