He took up Para athletics seriously in 2016 at Nippon Sport Science University in Tokyo, Japan.
Why this sport?
He played football until he was in high school. His physical education teacher told him about an event that was looking for future athletes for the Paralympic Games, and he was then encouraged to take up the sport by Japanese Para athletes Keita Sato and Atsushi Yamamoto. Although he planned to begin work after graduating from school, he decided to enter university as he was able to receive a scholarship as a Para athlete.
