She took up the sport in 2013 in Medellin, Colombia.
Why this sport?
She discovered powerlifting through her neighbours, who were involved in the sport. She also wanted to maintain her fitness. "I did not know about [powerlifting] but when I began to realise all the benefits, in addition to the honour of representing my country, I did not hesitate to take it up as my profession. I liked its toughness."
