There were Para athletics competitions at the school he attended, so he gave it a try. First he did 60m, then the high jump, until eventually finding shot put. "If you find something that you are good at, it is easier to continue. And I developed quickly and thought shot put was fun."

Other information
SPORTING DOUBTS
He always dreamt of competing at the Paralympic Games, but his impairment category was excluded from the programme at the 2004 Games in Athens and did not return until 2012. "I was close to ending my career as an athlete, but I kept fighting and then in 2012, they managed to get us included. So I was able to go and participate in the world's largest competition, and entering the arena and competing in front of 80,000 people was huge for me. Something I will never forget."
