Newly elected International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Vice President Duane Kale has been inducted into the Attitude Hall of Fame class of 2017.

The New Zealand broadcaster held a ceremony in early November in Auckland, announcing their 2017 Attitude Awards winners as a celebration of people with impairments. In addition to the 11 award winners, Kale was named as the latest member of the Hall of Fame and the first from a Para sport background.

Kale won six medals, including four golds, at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympics in swimming. He stayed involved in the Paralympic Movement after retiring from competition, serving as Chef de Mission for New Zealand at the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Paralympics; as well as on the IPC Governing Board.
